Plockton is a small fishing village encircling the picturesque Plockton bay, from where the sunrises every morning with some breath taking views. The village has a small population of around 400 but this soars in the summer months with many tourists being welcomed into the village.
Our local amenities include a primary school, secondary school with a school of excellence for traditional Scottish music attached. A Free Church of Scotland with weekly Sunday services. Our Post Office is open every week day morning. We also have the following shops for you to browse for souvenirs in Hidden Gems, The Gallery, Edmund's Craft Shop and the Knitting shop. In addition to this there is frequently a variety of 'pop up' shops in our Village Hall and Craft fairs.
If you fancy a stroll we have beautiful walks of varying lengths around the village with many photo opportunity spots. More information on these can be obtained in our village visitor centre. Or on a fine day sit on pier and watch the yachts bopping around on the bay as the world goes by.
Places to eat
We have three eateries in the village serving evening meals. They are The Plockton Inn, The Plockton Hotel & The Plockton Shores restaurant booking is strongly advised well in advance to reserve a table at your chosen place. If you prefer we have The Fish Bar providing a variety of take away meals.
